Do Easy Things and Carry Light Burdens

In the past few months, several dear friends of mine have experienced death and separation. I have grieved with parents who lost children and husbands who have lost wives. During difficult seasons like this I find myself reliving hard times I have known when I have lost loved ones. I am reminded of promises of God which have brought me comfort and hope when I have walked through dark valleys of grief.

God’s Presence in God’s Promises

You have probably come to the same conclusion as I have, that the only perfect father in scripture is God the Father. The relationship He shared with Jesus was amazing and I wish I was able to observe more of their interactions so I could be a better dad to my four sons.

God-You-See

I don’t expect to be a perfect father, but I do want to be a good one. I have searched the scriptures for commands directed to fathers. I have also read accounts of dads in the Bible and how they impacted the lives…

Freedom of SPEECH Faith

We Can’t Be Stopped      It’s no secret that our freedoms is the U.S. are under attack. On college campuses and in the public arena our ability to express our opinions are being contested. Whether in day-to-day discussions or in the world of social…

This months newsletter is a study on humility. This is not often on the list of New year’s resolutions, but I think after you read through these inspired passages, you will see how precious this attribute is and how important it is for God’s people. May we each seek to be more like our humble God.

Humble God

As many of you know, God has helped me to read through the Bible from Genesis to Revelation annually for decades. In the past 6 years He has led me to pull together bible studies on different topics, which are contributing to the…

The demands of the season can make it difficult to be still and draw near to your Dad. But my prayer for myself and each of us is that as we draw near to God we remember that God, in Christ, took the initiative to draw near to us.

I Just Want to Be Near You

When one of our young boys was toddling around the house, he would stand in the center of our home and call “Mama!” until he received a response. Sandi would respond and ask what he needed. His response was “I just want to be near…
