The Cross of Christ

Luke 9:23 And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself
and take up his cross daily and follow me.

Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me,
let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but
Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of
God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me.

Ephesians 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye that once were far ofare made nigh in the
blood of Christ. 14 For he is our peace, who made both one, and brake down the
middle wall of partition, 15 having abolished in the flesh the enmity, even the law of
commandments contained in ordinances; that he might create in himself of the two
one new man, so making peace; 16 and might reconcile them both in one body unto
God through the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 and he came and
preached peace to you that were far of, and peace to them that were nigh: 18 for
through him we both have our access in one Spirit unto the Father. 19 So then ye are
no more strangers and sojourners, but ye are fellow-citizens with the saints, and of
the household of God, 20 being built upon the foundation of the apostles and
prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief corner stone; 21 in whom each several
building, fitly framed together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord; 22 in whom ye
also are builded together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

Colossians 1:20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth
or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.

Colossians 3:1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are
above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things
that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is
hidden with Christ in God.

Romans 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, in
order that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we
too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have become united with Him in the
likeness of His death, certainly we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection, 6
knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, that our body of sin might be
done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin; 11 Even so consider
yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit
is life and peace.

Galatians 5:24 Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its
passions and desires.

Galatians 6:14 But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus
Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

1 Corinthians 1:17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel,
not in cleverness of speech, that the cross of Christ should not be made void. 18 For
the word of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us who are saved it
is the power of God. 23 Christ crucified, … unto them that are called, Christ the power
of God, and the wisdom of God.

2 Corinthians 13:4 For indeed He was crucified because of weakness, yet He lives
because of the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, yet we shall live with Him
because of the power of God directed toward you.

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so great a
cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us,
and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus the
author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the
cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2 Corinthians 5:16, 17, 21 From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to
the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him
thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has
passed away; behold, the new has come. For our sake he made him to be sin who
knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

2 Corinthians 1:9 Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that
was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.
